TINA RILEY

As Principal of 10 Mediate, Tina’s practice is focused on providing effective, informed and child-focused family mediation involving the full range of family law legal issues. Tina is a lawyer and an accredited mediator with the Ontario Association for Family Mediation. With more than 17 years’ experience working in Ontario’s family justice system, she has the knowledge and experience to assist parties to achieve lasting agreements. 

Called to the Ontario Bar in 1992, Tina began her career as in house counsel at the Ministry of the Attorney General providing advice on family law, family court processes, and family legal policy issues, and was involved in the development of initiatives such as the Child Support Guidelines, and the Family Responsibility Office. During her time at the Ministry, she was counsel to the Ontario Victim Services Secretariat and received the Excelsior Award for promoting Access to Justice in Ontario’s Court System. Tina practiced family law for several years before taking a position as Counsel, Family Law, at the Office of the Chief Justice, Ontario Court of Justice.

She has experience and training in Advanced Mediation, Negotiation, and Collaborative Family Law, as well as screening for power imbalances and intimate partner violence.

Tina is an empathetic listener and skilled communicator. She has seen the emotional and financial toll that litigation can have on children and families and is committed to providing a better way for families to manage issues on relationship breakdown. One that is safe, supportive, informed and allows the parties to determine an effective and lasting resolution.

Tina’s memberships include the Law Society of Ontario (LSO), Ontario Bar Association (OBA), Ontario Association for Family Mediation (OAFM), and the Association of Family and Conciliatory Courts-ON (AFCC/O).
